Certification Process Overview

Health professionals and others who are dedicated to the prevention and care of perinatal loss are encouraged to join our efforts to improve outcomes for families.

IPPE Certifications are valid for two years from the time of completion.

Requirements for certification include:

  1. Complete online Introduction to IPPE Continuing Education module
  2. Pass IPPE Certification Exam for your category
  3. Complete IPPE Oral Interview
  4. Individuals using the student rate (students, interns, residents, fellows, etc) will need to submit documentation of their student status.
  5. Optional: Obstetrical providers are encouraged to participate in our quality improvement efforts by sharing practice indicators. Those who submit this information will receive $100 off their certification fee.

Preparing for Certification

We suggest reviewing the Clinical Recommendations to determine your comfort level with each topic.  You can view education modules on each topic through our On Demand continuing education (modules are free with your IPPE registration code).
