Being a bereavement doula and starting The Clark and Delilah Project is deeply meaningful to me because it fills a crucial gap in supporting families who have experienced the loss of a pregnancy or infant. While hospitals offer valuable care during their stays, families need ongoing support beyond the hospital walls. My own experience as a doula for Clark and Delilah, respectively, has shown me the importance of this support, and I’m dedicated to ensuring that families facing similar challenges receive the assistance they need. By maintaining regular communication and offering support on significant dates, we can continue to provide comfort and companionship to these families during their most difficult moments long after they leave the hospital.

In 2018 I experienced a traumatic cesarean section when I gave birth to my daughter Audrey. As a first-time mom, no one had prepared me for how complicated and confusing birth could be. I knew in my heart that I didn’t want anyone to ever feel the way that I did that day, and I became a doula in 2019. After miscarrying our angel baby, Corey, in 2020, I became pregnant and had a successful vaginal birth after cesarean (VBAC) with our son, Will in 2021. I couldn’t have done this without my doula’s support.
My passion may have been born out of my traumatic experience, but it was my healing that drives my work every day because there is hope and healing in birth. My goal as a birth and postpartum doula and lactation counselor is to inform parents and parents-to-be on their choices during pregnancy, birth, and beyond.
Born and raised in Rochester New York, I married my high school sweetheart and spend my time playing with our kids, crocheting, walking our dogs, and swimming. I am also a licensed Speech Language Pathologist with a specialization in pediatric feeding therapy.
