Dr. Ponnila Marinescu graduated from Bowdoin College, obtained her medical degree at the University of Rochester School of Medicine and Dentistry, and completed a residency in Obstetrics and Gynecology at the University of Virginia. She worked as a generalist OB-GYN in Columbus, NY before returning to the University of Rochester to complete fellowship training in Maternal-Fetal Medicine. She is now faculty at the University of Rochester Medical Center with appointments in both Maternal-Fetal Medicine and Complex Family Planning.
Dr. Marinescu has a special interest in perinatal palliative and loss care, and she is the Director of the Outpatient Perinatal Loss Program at the University of Rochester Medical Center. She also has a passion for medical student, resident, and fellow education and has been recognized with several teaching awards throughout her early career.
